Today time is money. But do you know how much do you earn in 2 minutes?

People enjoy their lavish lives with their salaries earned by hard work. Many work on project basis and many on hourly basis. Some work at two or three places to meet the ends. Everyone wants the luxury in their life and hence work hard for it. But do you know how much you earn in 2 minutes? 


Life is fast and we are moving fast as well. Everyone drives his/her own vehicle and is in a hurry to save those minutes and reach in time, may it be office or home or other place. People travel from 2 kms. to 100 kms. a day for their work in vehicles owned by them or shared with colleagues or in company vehicles. 


There are a lot of people who have time restrictions and hence whenever they are late there is a salary cut and hence all are in a hurry. These people know the value of time and money. Hence to reach in time they cross the traffic signals when the lights are red "THANK GOD I MADE IT LAST SECOND". They run over the signals at lot of places. Few people are habitual to breaking the signals "चलता है". The traffic signals where ever you go are not more than 2  minutes and hence even if you stop at the last moment it will not deprive you of more than 2 minutes. 

Whenever you break that 2 minutes signal it takes only 1 second to meet with an accident. In 2019, 42 people lost life every hour due to road traffic accidents. These are the numbers which show people who have lost life. The data for those who have lost a leg or hand is not even tabulated and its exponentially higher than the lost lives. Life is difficult and depressing after being handicapped. 

It just takes one second to meet with an accident when you break a signal and cross the road. You might have done it so many times but luck is not always on one's side. In an accident a person may loose life, may loose a loved one or may loose his/her leg or hand. There may be injury to opposite party because of you wherein even he/she may loose life or someone important. I myself being an orthopedic surgeon have amputated leg of one person in December 2019 and hand of one person's wife in august 2019 just because they thought "निकल जायेगा". Those 2 minutes of stopping at signal can earn you your life or your limb if you just care to stop. Also those 2 minutes can save someone else's life. The expenses of the hospital also can be saved when you stop for that 2 minutes. You can prevent loss of work days which may be unpaid.

This is the power of 2 minutes. This is what you earn in 2 minutes. Its not about the money. Its the life which can be saved with those 2 minutes. Its the pain and agony which can be prevented by those 2 minutes. Life can be lost in just seconds but can be saved by simply stopping at the signal when it turns red. 

Stop. Stop. The signal has turned red. Earn that life back. Do not break the signal. It will be green again in 2 minutes.
